Class of 2012 IB Summer Seminar - Monday!

Just a reminder that all Class of 2012 IB Diploma Candidates are expected to attend the summer seminar on Monday at School #56. It starts promptly at 9 am and will end at 12 pm. Please arrange to be ready to work at 9 am and be picked up at noon.

UPDATED UB IB SUMMER INSTITUTE INFORMATION

UB will not issue us parking tags. So, you have two choices: pay the $4 to park in the Fronczak lot or park at the Center for Tomorrow and walk/take the shuttle.

The Center for Tomorrow is labeled on the map sent previously in an email to all 2011 IB Diploma Candidates.

The Institute will run from 9-3 each day with one hour off for lunch. Bring money to pay for lunch or bring your own.

Class of 2011 IB Summer Institute Information

The following email, which included a map of UB North, was sent to all IB 2011 Diploma Candidates on 6/21:

The Extended Essay Summer Institute will take place from 9 am to 3 pm on Tuesday, June 29th through Thursday, July 1st on the North Campus of UB.

We will be meeting in the Lockwood Library in Room 109. Parking is available in the Fronczak Lot on the North Campus. On Tuesday morning, either I will be waiting at the lot to hand you a parking pass or the attendant will have them for you. The cost for parking is $4 otherwise.

We encourage you to carpool to UB.

There will be a one hour lunch break each day. You can either bring your own lunch or bring money to buy lunch at one of the restaurant facilities on campus.

If you are one of the 18 students who did not turn in the green EE sheet to me, you had best bring it with you on Tuesday.

Please try to be IN Lockwood 109 at 9:00 am Tuesday morning.

Kids Escaping Drugs: Walk for Kids

On Sunday, May 16th from 12-3 pm a walk will take place to support Kids Escaping Drugs. Registration is at noon at the Koessler Center of Canisius College.

Service Learning Opportunity in Tanzania

This link will allow you to download a document that explains about a unique opportunity to go to Tanzania through an initiative with UB. The cost is $3300 and the trip will take place in Summer 2011.

18th Annual Letter Carries "Stamp Out Hunger" Food Drive - Saturday, May 8th

The National Association of Letter Carriers is looking for volunteers to work from two to six hours on Saturday, May 8, 2010 to do the following:

*Help unload Letter Carrier vehicles when they return from their routes in the afternoon (locations vary).

*Volunteers with a car (and a driver's license) can go out in teams of two and collect the donations right on the mail routes.

The Zoo needs your help!!!

The Zoo is looking for approximately 100 volunteers to help out with the grand opening of the Children's Zoo. The event is May 22, but they are looking for help on May 21st as well. Anyone 14 years or older can volunteer.

* Event: 135th Birthday Jamboree and Delta Sonic Heritage Farm Grand Opening
* Location: Buffalo Zoo; enter at Gate 1; Meadow Road (Ring Road) at Colvin. Do not use main entrance
* Shifts: 5/21 from 3 PM to 6 PM for set up
* 5/22 from 8 AM to 6 PM for event and clean up

* Game Assistants
* Inventory Runners
* Popcorn Makers
* Radio Control
* Ticket Sellers
* Trash Monitoring
