TED stands for Technology, Entertainment and Design and is a series of talks that are "Ideas Worth Sharing". Visit www.ted.com for thousands of TED videos.
A TEDx event is an independently organized event, sometimes a TEDx event is organized around a specific TED conference.
TEDYouth will be held on November 16th and this is a great opportunity for a group of individuals in Buffalo to organize a TEDxYouthDay to watch TEDYouth and offer a stage for local speakers.
Organizing a TEDx event is a big undertaking, but there are two other TEDx events in Buffalo and the organizers of those events (TEDxBuffalo in October and TEDxBuffaloWomen in December) will help.
If you are interested in organizing a TEDxYouthDay event to be held on November 16th visit http://www.ted.com/tedx/licenses to read the guidelines and rules and to apply for a license. If you have questions about hosting a TEDx event you can contact Diana Cihak (mom of 9th grader Sage Cihak) at diana.cihak@gmail.com.
This blog will keep IB juniors and seniors apprised of IB updates and deadlines for CAS and Extended Essays.

EC Dems looking for petition volunteers
The Erie County Democratic Committee is looking for volunteers to help
out with its petitioning efforts. Through petitioning, students can get
the opportunity to communicate with the constituents of Erie County
while collecting necessary signatures to help candidates secure a place
on the ballot.
They are especially interested in students that are registered Democratic voters, or who have a car available to them. Petitioning usually takes place Mondays-Thursdays at 5pm, and all day on the weekends. Please contact marisa@ecdems.com with any questions or interest.
You must be 18 or older to participate.
