Monday, Nov. 12th (No School, Veteran’s Day) from10 am - NOON

Students should dress for the weather! 
Volunteers will work in the cold, but not in the rain.

7-10 Volunteers needed at Bennett Park Montessori Event

On Thursday, November 15th, Bennett Park Montessori is hosting its 4th annual Edible Evening and Wellness Night. They expect 100-120 people to attend and have invited nearly 20 vendors to participate.  

• BPMS has rented GoBike’s “Fender Blender” to make cycle-powered smoothies and they could use 2-3 volunteers at this station.  

• They are upcycling old t-shirts into tote bags and could use 3-4 volunteers on that project.  

• They could use 2-3 volunteers to move throughout the space and help the vendors and organizers in any way needed. 

All volunteers should plan to work 4:30-7:45pm on November 15th. 

The Bennett Park Montessori Center is locates at 342 Clinton St.

Volunteers needed for Maritime Heritage event - 10/6 & 10/7

The Buffalo Maritime Heritage Festival is taking place on Saturday, October 6th and Sunday, October 7th in the Colonel Ward Pumping Station next to LaSalle Parke. In addition to receiving volunteer hours, it's a rare chance to see inside this historic facility. Proceeds of the festival are going to at-risk youth education programs in Western New York. 

Students are needed to help out with a variety of tasks and are needed for shifts that will be 3-4 hours in length. 

The times volunteers are needed are from 10 am to 5 pm on Saturday and from 10 am to 7 pm on Sunday.

Wear CHS “gear” for event (t-shirts)
Shifts/Jobs: help set up after school on Friday (from 4:30-5:30 pm)
- be server during the event (6:30-8:30 pm)
- help direct cars where to park (from 5:00-7:15 pm)
- assist with raffle drawings and postings of winning numbers (8:00-8:30 pm)
- help in various roles for the entire event (4:30-8:30 pm)

Earth Day Cleanup in the CHS Neighborhood - April 21 & 22

This is a TWO-DAY option. You can come Saturday, April 21st from 1 PM-3 PM or Sunday, April 22nd from 10 AM-12:30 PM

Join Pelion Community Garden as it spruces up the garden and around the neighborhood. They will collect refuse, rake a little, transplant some perennials, prune many of the shrubs, and possibly turn the soil and repair raised beds damaged by the winter.

No skills are necessary.
Bring please your favorite sunhat & work gloves.
It might be chilly--dress appropriately.

Volunteer opportunity: MLK event at Kleinhans on 1/14

Mrs. Bessie Patterson, the organizer of the event, will have a sign-in table in the lobby of Kleinhans Music Hall for students.
Volunteers should arrive by 5:00 pm on Sunday, January 14th at 5:00 pm. A CAS verification sheet should be brought to be signed. Students will be done volunteering by 9:00 pm.
Superintendent Cash will be the keynote speaker at this event. It is the annual MLK celebration and it begins at 6:00 pm on January 14th. The organizing committee honors all youth in attendance on stage with recognition to encourage them to stay in school and continue to pursue a higher education of learning.
